Former couple Kris Aquino and James Yap have finally reached an agreement in court regarding the visitation rights that James is seeking for their child, Bimby. Though they refrained from discussing with the media what exactly James’ visitation rights are, the two seemed happy as they emerged from the sala of Judge Cristina J. Sulit of the Makati Regional Trial Court last July 1.

Masaya ako sa resulta. I’m happy sa desisyon ni Judge Sulit today. At 'yung inayos niyang agreement between both parties will really benefit my son very much (I’m happy with the results. I'm happy with Judge Sulit's decision today. And the agreement she fixed between both parties will really benefit my son very much),” Kris was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph.

James, for his part, only said that he was happy with the results of the proceedings, and that he cannot say anything else on the topic.

However, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, James’s legal counsel, told PEP.ph earlier that the court has already allowed James to visit Bimby from 4:30 to 9:00 PM on Wednesdays, as well as from Friday afternoons until 2:00 P.M. the next day. The only thing left to settle in court would be where James is supposed to see his child as he cannot go near Kris’s home due to the Permanent Protection Order that Kris had filed against him. He was also reluctant to bring Bimby to Serendra in Bonifacio Global City, where he lives, because of the explosion that happened there recently.

James also hoped that they can soon be able to put the whole issue behind them.

Sana matapos na ‘to lahat, sana move on na lahat,” he said. “Sana mag-focus na kaming dalawa [ni Kris] kung papa'no mapalaki nang maayos [si Bimby]. Kasi nga, hindi naman kami naging successful bilang partner, sana maging successful naman kami bilang nanay at tatay. 'Yun lang ang lagi kong ipinagdadasal talaga (I hope this will soon be over, I hope we can all move on. I hope the two of us can focus on how we can properly raise Bimby. While we weren’t successful in being partners, we hope we’ll be successful as parents. That’s the only thing I’m praying for.).”
