Kim Chiu may be one of the biggest names in the local entertainment scene, but she’s still relatable as can be. In fact, like most women who watch what they eat as they grow older, she also has “cheat days.”

“Oh my god, I super—aside from endorsing Chowking—I love chao fan with [lumpiang] Shanghai and spaghetti… I love Filipino spaghetti, sweet-style spaghetti.”

Of course, the chinita princess exercises enough to indulge her cravings once in a while. In February, she joined the Pilipinas Duathlon Series 2018 in Clark, Pampanga. While admitting that she didn’t train enough for the race, Kim posted on Instagram what really motivates her to keep going:

“Joining…races makes me know myself even more, every race I discover something new about myself… I have to finish this thing on my own, my own body, my own mind, my own strength, not depending on anyone else’s ability.”

She also has a way of pushing herself to start when she's not in the mood to work out. According to her, it only takes eight minutes to get into the fitness groove.

“When I’m super tired—sabi kasi nila, nabasa ko lang ‘to, pero it works naman—the first eight minutes of your workout is really the hardest, hardest part. Parang 'pag nalampasan mo 'yung eight minutes ng workout mo, okay na, tuloy-tuloy ka na, hindi ka na mapapagod,” she told FN.

Kasi you’re really lazy, parang the treadmill is just in front of you, parang 'Ayoko na, pagod na pala ako': ‘yun ‘yung one minute n’on. So the next minute is to wear gear, and the third minute is sumampa ka na doon sa treadmill and then struggle part is the next minutes para mapunta ka sa eight minutes. ‘Pag nalampasan mo 'yung eight minutes, it will keep you going."
