A month and a half after actor John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao faced the public in an interview to say their relationship was on the rocks, Shaina's sister, Vina Morales, told the press, "I always knew naman na magkakabalikan silang dalawa. (I always knew that they would get back together.)" Her statement prompted rumors that the two are back in a relationship.
During the press conference for John Lloyd's contract renewal with Magic Flakes on December 15, PEP.ph reports that he was elusive about the status of their relationship. When the media asked him if he and Shaina were back together, he said, "Not officially. Yun lang. (That's all.)"
The actor added that he was too open about his personal life before, which led to things getting out of control. "Siguro the best way to protect it [the relationship] muna for now is to keep it to myself and let it be as private as possible."
He did admit that the two of them still spend time together. "Shortly after everything that happened, maayos naman kami," he explained. "And, kung anuman yung mga naging problema, I had to attend to it, everything, especially yung mga related sa family."
John Lloyd called what they're going through right now as a discovery period. "Siguro we're still trying to discover how to really take care of something like this."
