PEP.ph reports James Yap's revelation in an interview he granted Tapatan with Tunying host Anthony Taberna. The cager admitted that he has an older child aside from Bimby, his son with former wife Kris Aquino.
“Actually, gusto ko lang magpasalamat sa ex-girlfriend ko na talagang kung anuman pinagdaanan ko, hindi siya nakisawsaw, hindi siya nakialam o siniraan ako,” he shares.
He also expressed his improving relationship with Kris. He was even part of the 7th birthday celebration of Bimby earlier this year.
When asked about his personal goals, he confessed that he plans to quit playing basketball professionally to eventually concentrate on coaching.“Gusto kong mag-coach sa high school para sa mga bata. Para ma-share ko kung ano ‘yong experience ko, ‘di ba? Iba pa ‘yong feeling ‘pag nakatulong ka sa mga bata 'tapos makikita mo na lang silang nasa PBA [Philippine Basketball Association],” he reveals.
With his retirement plans already out, the question of settling down with his Italian girlfriend, Michela Cazzola was brought up. “Ang pagpapakasal kasi, nandiyan lang ‘yan. Hindi naman nawawala ‘yan. Hinay-hinay lang. Darating at darating ‘yong oras na bigla lang maiisip mo, 'Okay, sige,'” he answers.
