Heart Evangelista has admitted that she has reconciled with her father, Rey Ongpauco, whom she had reportedly not spoken to for months due to his disapproval of her boyfriend, Sen. Chiz Escudero. However, she refused to reveal how they reconciled, saying that she doesn’t regret her decision to live her life independently. The actress also revealed that she doesn’t see herself becoming a senator’s wife anytime soon.

“The idea is nice, it’s wonderful. But there’s so much to do, naghahabol ako ng oras (I’m pressed for time),” the 28-year-old star was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. “You cannot turn back time 'pag may mga anak na (when you already have children)... ‘I wish to do this. I wish to do that.’ And then you will live your life through your daughter or to your child. I don’t want to do that. I want to be able to share my experiences. I have yet to discover and go on an adventure with what I have now, the time that I have—being independent.”

Heart has also expressed her willingness to work again with her ex-boyfriend, Jericho Rosales, in an upcoming movie.

“Okay lang sa akin na makasama si Jericho (It’s okay for me to work with Jericho)… I mean, I’m very happy with my life, and if you’re happy with your life, it’s okay to work with someone from your past,” she said about her former flame, who is now with Australian TV host Kim Jones. “We went through so much kasi, that’s why may mga conscious na ganyan. Pero really, it’s nothing (We went through so much, that’s why we’re conscious about things like that. But really, it’s nothing),” she continued. “Happy naman siya, e, happy din ako. So, just be happy.”
