Heart Evangelista’s parents, Rey and Cecile Ongpauco have made known that they disapprove of the actress's present flame, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero. Because of this, the 28-year-old actress has admitted that she has seriously considered marrying without first getting her parents’ permission.

“I always thought of that,” she was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. “Siguro moment lang 'yun na naisip ko that I will have my parents at my wedding (I think I only thought of having my parents at my wedding for only a moment.). I always thought that they will never be there because they will not be able to accept… no one [really] will be good enough for them. So I always… that wasn’t a problem for me. That’s why I always say I wanted a small wedding.”

However, Heart says that she’s not planning to tie the knot any time soon.

“A, no, no!” she quickly said. “Before, yes, I was in love before, yes. Wala naman din akong maling ginagawa (I wasn’t doing anything wrong); but at that time, now or never… 'Yung time na 'yun, sige, gagawin ko lahat for love (That time, I was ready to do anything for love), you know? Now it’s not.”

She also revealed that Chiz has been very supporting and understanding throughout their ordeal.

“He just said that, ‘You know this too shall pass,” she said. “And ‘Magulang mo ‘yan, kahit ano pa ang mangyari, ganyan. One day mami-miss ka din nila (They’re still your parents, no matter what. They’ll miss you one day)…’ And you know, parang sinabi lang niya sa akin na (It’s like he told me that), ‘No matter what you do, you always think many times before you decide on something because even from afar, you would want them to be proud of you.’ So that’s what I plan to do.”
