Gretchen Barretto's photo with Randy Santiago has received mixed reactions among her followers on Instagram, in light of her ongoing feud with her sister Claudine Barretto, who recently filed a lawsuit against her estranged husband Raymart Santiago. PEP.ph reports that the actress responded to a certain user's comment about the photo.

“Now I can see how you value your family Ms. @gretchenbarretto sometimes there were families that is not applicable [sic] the saying ‘blood is thicker than water.’ No matter how pangit the ugali of your sister is [sic] you can still show naman the respect [sic] and sympathy. I just hope this will not happen to you soon. May God touches [sic] your heart. God bless u. I like u but sorry just my opinion,” @arfheeb commented.

Gretchen had defended her post, saying that she’s not looking to fight with all of Claudine’s enemies.

“@arfheeb do you expect me to make enemies out of all her enemies? Because if that is so, then I will not have a single friend, I won’t have photos to post on Instagram, I won’t have parties & won’t have a job. Life is too short to be anything but happy (to love & be loved is essential.).”

“How do you expect me to treat Randy Santiago when I see him knowing that the family is being publicly shamed & lies are being thrown at them?” she added. “I know the truth. I have been a victim of their very painful lies. Now tell me do they have sympathy for their victims? You expect me to respect when I was never given one. You know nothing about this. Don’t be fooled.”

On the other hand, Dominique Cojuanco, Gretchen’s daughter with her longtime partner Tonyboy Cojuanco, has also lashed out at a rude comment about her allegedly being an illegitimate child.

Kaya pag namatay dad mo 1/4 lahat mamanahin mo kasi anak ka sa Labas (When your dad dies, you’ll only inherit ¼ of his wealth because you’re an illegitimate child),” the comment, posted by user @annelaspag, read.

“@annelaspag I don’t usually reply to crude comments, but: Whether I get anything or nothing, when he passes, means nothing to me,” Dominique replied. “My dad has given me all the love, memories, and opportunities in the world. And among all things, he’s also given me many life lessons--one simply being to have faith in God as well as in myself… The love and the amount of memories he’s given from the moment I was born onwards, is enough for more than one lifetime.”
