Actor Gabby Concepcion revealed his thoughts on his daughter KC Concepcion and actor Piolo Pascual breaking up at the press conference for his upcoming movie, Yesterday Today Tomorrow, on December 6, PEP.ph reports. He said that he has yet to talk to KC face-to-face, but they do exchange texts regularly.

"Kalimutan na natin na nasa showbiz ang nakarelasyon ng aking anak, pero as a father, of course, I'm hurting," he is quoted as saying on PEP.ph. "Only because ngayon lang ako naka-experience na, mula noong umuwi ako, nagkaroon ng relasyon ang anak ko. (Let's forget the fact that my daughter had a boyfriend who's in showbiz. As a father, of course, I'm hurting. Only because this is my first time to experience my daughter having a relationship since I came back to the Philippines.)"

"I'm mad at the person who hurt the feelings of my daughter," he added, recalling how hurt KC looked in an interview he saw on TV. "I taught my daughter how to swim, how to ride a bike, how to do all that, and para paiyakin lang nang ganun ng isang tao, masakit. (And for someone to just make her cry like that, it hurts me.)"

Gabby admitted that KC knew what she was getting into when she decided to have a relationship with Piolo. In the end, though, he says it's all about the man's intention when he starts a relationship. "Ano ba naman yung sabihin mo, 'Sir, I have the best intentions for your daughter.'"

While he didn't give a straight answer when PEP.ph asked him if his opinion of Piolo had changed, he said, "Tingin ko lang, ang mga taong manliligaw sa anak ko, sa umpisa pa lang, dapat tunay na. Hindi tayo dapat magpakita ng sinasabi nila na 'best foot forward.' (I just think my daughter's suitors should be genuine from the start. People should not put what others call their 'best foot forward.')"

He also said that he's waiting for Piolo to approach him or Sharon Cuneta, KC's mom, to talk about what happened. "Basta ama ako ng anak ko. (I'm the father of my child.) Whatever mistakes were done to my children, it is proper for anyone to approach the father, the mother, or anybody he has hurt. He needs to do what he needs to do."
