Though Derek Ramsay had expressed his desire to keep the details of his recent breakup with Cristine Reyes private, the actor was still unable to dodge the press’ insistent queries about the issue especially since the former couple is set to star alongside each other in the upcoming movie Trophy Wife.

“We’re fine. With regards to the movie that we are doing, we’re going to be professional about that,” the actor was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. “There are so many speculations. But I would not talk about what people are saying. That is their opinion.”

Despite the early end of their relationship, Derek insists that he and Cristine still remain friends.

“We’re actually going to Hawaii for a show. Matagal nang naka-schedule iyon,” he revealed. “Kaya magkakasama pa rin kami. We’re both being professional sa trabaho namin (That has been scheduled for a long time. So I’ll still be spending time with her. We’re both being professional in our work.).”

When further pressed for details of his breakup, Derek stood his ground, saying, “We are giving each other space. We have decided to end the relationship, and I’m going to be very private about it.”
