At the premiere night for his new movie about infidelity, called My Neighbor's Wife, actor Dennis Trillo revealed to PEP.ph that he himself had been unfaithful in a past relationship. "Hindi ko naman ikakaila na meron na rin akong nagawang gano'n (I don't deny that I've also [been unfaithful] before)," he is quoted as saying. "Naging malaking lesson iyon sa akin. Marami akong natutunan. Kaya hindi ko na siya inulit-ulit. (It was a big lesson for me. I learned a lot from it, which is why I didn't do it again.)"
Dennis also told PEP.ph that he's experienced women cheating on him before, and when it comes to forgiving partners who've been unfaithful, he has this to say: "'Yong pagpapatawad, sa tingin ko natural iyan sa isang tao e. Kailangan lang ng panahon para mapatawad mo ang isang tao. Kahit gaano kabigat ang nagawang kasalanan sa 'yo. (Forgiveness is something that comes naturally to people. We just need time to learn to forgive someone, no matter how big their offense is.)"
As for giving an unfaithful partner a second chance, Dennis says he believes that if he and his partner are married at the time, he would exert all efforts to fix their relationship. "Lahat naman ng tao nagkakamali, and lahat din ay may karapatan para sa kapatawaran. (Everyone makes mistakes, and everyone has the right to forgiveness.)"
If it was a girlfriend who cheated on him, on the other hand, his forgiveness would depend on how big her offense was. In the end, what's important to him is honesty. "Mahirap din akong magbigay ng trust sa isang tao. So, once na na-break niya iyon, mahirap nang ibalik ang tiwala. Pero hangga't maibabalik, pipilitin kong maayos talaga. (I don't just give my trust to anyone. Once it's broken, it's hard to get it back. But as long as it's still possible, I'll do my best to fix my relationship.)"
