Brapanese hunk Daniel Matsunaga, who is now part of TV5’s new noontime game show Game ‘N Go, denies that his ex-girlfriend, actress Heart Evangelista, was the reason for his move from GMA-7. In an interview with PEP.ph, Daniel claimed he switched networks not just because his contract with GMA had expired, but also due to the opportunities TV5 has presented to him.

“Kasi yung dating shows dati sa akin [sa GMA-7] drama lahat, di ba?" he is quoted as saying. "Yung show dito, very different and for me, it’s [an] amazing experience. (My former shows when I was in GMA-7 were all dramas, right? My show here is very different and for me, it’s an amazing experience.)”

He added that he did not move just so he could avoid Heart, saying, “Friends kami, e. So, walang ganung isyu. (We’re friends. So there’s no such issue.)”

Though the former couple still remains in touch, Daniel said that he has moved on and that he wants to focus on his career for now.

“Ngayon meron ako nung mga workshops. So, may focus ako sa trabaho. So, I’m not really looking for romance.”

Daniel would also rather not comment on the rumor that Heart and Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero are seeing each other. “Well, narinig ko yung tsismis. Pero hindi ko alam kung totoo o hindi. I have nothing to say kasi buhay yun ni Heart. So, siya na ang mag-decide kung ano ang gusto niya. So, masaya ako para sa kanya. Kung masaya siya, masaya rin ako, di ba? (Well, I’ve heard the rumors. But I don’t know if it’s true or not. I have nothing to say because that’s Heart’s business. So she will be the one to decide what she wants. So I’m happy for her. If she’s happy, then I’m happy too, right?)”
