Actress Heart Evangelista confessed in an interview with The Philippine Star writer Wilson Lee Flores for his column, "Will Soon Flourish," that she and Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero have gone out to dinner twice. Heart broke up with Brapanese boyfriend Daniel Matsunaga in April. Meanwhile, Sen. Escudero is also single, having recently separated from his wife, Tintin.

Heart immediately clarified, however, that just because they've had dinner, it doesn't mean their relationship will turn into romance. “Our going to dinner doesn’t mean we’re romantically involved," she is quoted as saying.

According to Heart, she and the senator have talked about "anything and everything under the sun." She added, "I think he’s (Chiz) brilliant, yet he’s also a down-to-earth guy."

The actress further admitted that Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, whom she shares a mother-daughter bond with, apparently introduced them to each other. "She introduces me to different people, to good, eligible men," Heart explained.

Yet despite these setups, Heart says she's not ready to fall in love again just yet. "I don’t want to think that way pa with anybody. At this point of my life, I’d like to give myself a chance to be alone, to be independent."

As for her opinion on Sen. Defensor-Santiago's previous attempt to match her up with President Noynoy Aquino, Heart said, "Tita Miriam is always joking."

As for whether or not she would go out with P-Noy, she said, "I think dating the President would give you so much pressure."
