Senator Tito Sotto is currently suffering the consequences of his crude remark during the Commission on Appointments hearing of Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo. And after being bashed for his insensitivity towards single parents, it is now his daughter, Ciara Sotto, who is being hounded by the public online.
The 36-year old actress and single mom is now in Japan with her son, and several netizens were quick to spread hateful comments on her Instagram regarding the issue surrounding her father.
While a lot of the comments still targeted her father, there were several that included harsh comments about the actress and her entire family on their vacation photos.
Still, a lot of people defended her – including her cousin, Danica Sotto-Pingris, who requested the public to spare her cousin and niece from the ordeal via an Instagram comment.
“Please wag kayo dito mag comment. Respect her account,” Danica requested. “May mga nasaktan man pero unfair na idamay niyo siya pati ang pamangkin ko.”
She then added, “walang sino man ang perfect sa atin, please don’t make this issue bigger by giving unnecessary comments.”
