The Office of the City Prosecutor of Pasay City has dismissed three complaints that broadcaster Mon Tulfo filed against Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto after their controversial encounter at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in May 2012, reports.

In a joint resolution issued on October 26, 2012, the court dismissed Mon’s charges of Attempted Homicide, Grave Coercion, and Oral Defamation due to “lack of probable cause.” The journalist’s complaints of Slight Physical Injuries against Raymart and the couple’s friend, Edoardo Atilano, as well as another grave coercion charge against Raymart, were the only ones found to have been accepted as of press time.

Raymart and Claudine expressed their appreciation for the court’s decision through a statement issued by their lawyer, Alex Avisado.

“Our clients Claudine Barretto and Raymart Santiago are humbled and thankful for this decision for it shows that indeed the court in dispensing justice is insulated from public opinion and considers not quantity but the quality of evidence submitted by the parties."
