Claudine Barretto believes that the theft complaint that her former personal assistant Dessa Patilan had filed against her on September 11 was made under her older sister Gretchen Barretto’s instruction.

Nababaliw na yata siya (I think she’s becoming crazy),” Claudine said in an interview with ABS-CBNNews.com.

Magsama na lang sila ni Gretchen sa kulungan," she later added, describing her former employee. "Syempre malungkot, syempre nakakaawa. Nakakalungkot kasi ginagamit siya [Patilan] ng kapatid ko (She should be with Gretchen in prison. Of course I’m sad, of course I pity her. It’s sad because she’s being used by my sister.)."

However, the actress also revealed that she would drop her initial theft charge against Dessa in exchange for an apology.

"Oo naman, iyon lang naman ang hinahantay ko [na humingi siya ng tawad] (Yes, her apology is all that I’m waiting for)," she had said.

Claudine was also asked about Gretchen’s recent allegation that her youngest sister had been hospitalized because of her mental illness and her drug usage.

"Hindi ko alam. Hindi ako nakikinig sa mga sinasabi nila,” she had said. “Hindi ko alam kung sino ang adik sa amin talaga (I don’t know. I don’t listen to what they’re saying. I really don’t know who’s the addict between the two of us.)."
