2014: Isabel Oli and John Prats
2014 was a big year filled with grand celebrity engagements. One of the most memorable ones was John's proposal to Isabel on September 24, 2014. True to his nature as a performer and concert director, John organized a flash mob.
A flash mob is a dance number performed by a large group of people who pretend to be ordinary bystanders in a public place and then reveal themselves as performers-was a popular trend at the time.
John chose to hold his flash mob at Eastwood Mall, a place he and Isabel often frequented for dates. On that special day, Isabel initially thought she was to go shopping with John's sisters, Camille and Naomi Prats.
Then, all of a sudden, the people around them started to dance, and friends and family of the couple began to appear. The crowd led Isabel out to the mall plaza where there was a small stage set up for her to stand on.
The LED billboard then showed a message from John. At the end of the message, the actor appeared and performed a dance number for Isabel.
John then got down on one knee and popped the question. Isabel said yes. Less than a year later, John and Isabel got married on May 16, 2015. They had a four seasons-inspired wedding in Batangas.
Today, the couple awaits the arrival of their third child, a baby girl whom they plan to name Forest. They have two kids: Feather and Freedom.
2014: Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes
Marian and Dingdong were already engaged by this time, but the GMA-7 actor wanted to do his proposal one more time.
His first proposal happened in August 2012 at a butterfly dome in Macau. Dingdong brought his family and Marian to Macau to celebrate his birthday.
Since Marian's family wasn't there to witness the first proposal, Dingdong wanted to do it again. This time, Dingdong staged it during Marian's birthday celebration on her dance show on August 9, 2014.
He asked for her hand in marriage in front of their families, their friends, and their fans. Dingdong and Marian held their grand wedding celebration on December 30, 2014.
They tied the knot at the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City. Five years later, the couple now has two kids: Zia and Ziggy.
2014: Bianca Gonzalez and JC Intal
It was early in the morning when Bianca had just arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2.
She and JC Intal, who was still her boyfriend then, were on their way to London for a much-deserved vacation. JC said they would meet up at the airport. Upon her arrival at the terminal, Bianca kept receiving long-stemmed red roses from different people. The celebrity host had no clue what was happening until she reached the check-in counter.
She was given a banner that read "Bianca, Please Say YES." Family and friends then appeared and led her to the center, where JC met her with a bouquet of flowers. The basketball player got down on one knee and proposed. The couple got engaged on March 20, 2014.
Their wedding later that year was much more private and intimate. The Lagen Island resort in El Nido, Palawan served as Bianca and JC's beach wedding venue. They got married on December 4, 2014.
Bianca and JC now have two girls: Lucia and Carmen.
2013: Kim Jones and Jericho Rosales
Jericho and Kim were attending a Christian service when the ABS-CBN actor proposed to the fashion entrepreneur. The Kapamilya star asked for a moment on stage.
At first, he made it seem as if he was going to have a testimony, but Jericho used that moment to surprise Kim with a wedding proposal. They got engaged on August 4, 2013.
On May 1, 2014, Jericho and Kim tied the knot in a beach wedding ceremony at Shangri-La Boracay.
2012: Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi
The engagement and wedding of Carmina and Zoren were one of the sweetest, grandest, and most romantic surprises ever staged. Zoren found the best cover to hide the surprise: a commercial shoot.
Carmina thought she and the family were going to shoot a commercial at Fernbrook Gardens in Alabang. She had no clue that a whole other production was taking place in the venue and their star-studded wedding guests were waiting for the surprise to unfold.
Zoren had all the best spectacles ready. With the help of dance troupe G-Force, Zoren organized a flash mob that included the couple's twins Mavy and Cassy. The actor had a man-made cherry blossom tree, Carmina's favorite, placed within the venue.
The tree would be the spot where Zoren asked for Carmina's hand. Immediately after the engagement, a wedding ceremony took place and the long-time couple finally exchanged vows.
Zoren and Carmina got engaged and married on November 15, 2012.
