Angel Locsin has revealed on the June 16 episode of The Buzz that her boyfriend, Azkals player Phil Younghusband, is better than her at planning elaborate surprises to commemorate their relationship.

“Ang hirap kasi lagi siyang may pasabog,” she was quoted as saying in an article on ABS-CBNNews.com. “Laging lamang kaysa sa akin. Mas sweet kasi siya kaysa sa akin. 'Yung mga ganyang bagay, hindi niya masyado pinag-iisipan. Ako talaga effort (It’s so difficult because he always has a surprise. He’s sweeter than me. He doesn’t think too much about those things. For me, it takes a lot of effort.).”

Angel then shared how she traveled to Singapore to surprise Phil, who had a game there, on their first anniversary as a couple.

“Anniversary namin the next day. Mayroon siyang game sa Singapore. Hindi ko na lang sinabi na nakahanap ako ng [free time], so pagdating ko doon, surprise surprise (It was our anniversary the next day. He had a game in Singapore. I didn’t tell him that I was able to have free time, so when I got there, it was really a surprise),” she said.

However, she admitted that she thought Phil’s own gift to her, a video montage of their special memories together, was still better than her surprise for him. But grand gestures aside, Angel still says that what she loves most about Phil is his harmonious relationship with her father, whom she is very close to.

“Okay sila,” she said. “Kapag nag-uusap sila, sports. Pareho silang athletic. Meron silang mga salita na sila lang nakakaintindi, hindi ako nakakasingit talaga. Minsan nao-OP na ako (They’re okay. They always talk about sports. They’re both athletic. They exchange words that only they can understand, I really can’t join their conversation. Sometimes I even feel out of place.).”
