Forty-one-year-old actor Miko Palanca passed away on Monday, December 9.
His family, including older brother Bernard Palanca, released a statement through their respective Instagram accounts.
"We are extremely saddened and heartbroken by the sudden passing of our beloved brother, Miko Palanca. The whole family is grateful for the incredible outpour of love and support that has been coming in today.
"As of now, we would like to respectfully request for privacy as we go through this very difficult time. Again, we appreciate all the love and support—thank you so much."
Mico's younger siblings also posted photos with him. "I wish I could've done more. I'll never forget our gym sessions and basketball talks. Rest easy kuya. I'll miss you," wrote his brother Santi.
"Already missing you kuya. Wish you didn't go so soon. Rest easy now. I love you," said Martin.
The actor's younger sister Erika shared, "I love you. didn't say it enough. but I did. I do. so much. I'm so glad I got to tell you how much I looked up to you growing up. Thank you Kuya."
Miko was popularly known for starring in hit teen series in the '00s, Tabing Ilog. He also appeared in shows K2BU (2000), Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay (2002) and It Might Be You (2004), where he dated co-star Bea Alonzo.
More recently, the actor appeared in ABS-CBN teleseryes such as FPJ's Ang Probinsyano (2016) at Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit (2019).
