Actor-TV host Luis Manzano discounted rumors that he entered into a relationship with actress Jennylyn Mercado because he felt sorry for her, ABS-CBNNews.com reports.
"We’re very, very happy," he is quoted as saying. "Wala akong pakialam sa ganun. (I don't care about stuff like that.) I have no time for them. And I never will have time for them. I don’t care. Life is better without them, 'yung people na nanghihila pababa (these people who try to pull others down). Intrigues [are] part of life, pero hating is not. Ang mga intriga na iyan, life is so much better without them."
To show how content they were with how things are going in their relationship, the couple recently attended the Entertainment Press Golden Screen Awards together.
"Sabi nga namin, we weren’t hiding anything naman," Luis said. "It’s something very nice, that we get to attend functions like this one na magkasama."
The two were spotted holding hands and enjoying a leisurely chat at the event.
Meanwhile, Dennis Trillo, Jennylyn's former boyfriend was also present at the awards ceremony. When PEP.ph asked him how he felt about Jennylyn and Luis's relationship, he said, "Happy naman ako para sa kanilang lahat. (I'm happy for them.)"
