In an interview via phone patch on Showbiz Central on November 20, actress Jennylyn Mercado said she and boyfriend Luis Manzano did not previously discuss revealing their romance to the public. Luis admitted they were already in a relationship in an interview with PEP.ph on November 16.

"Nagulat lang din ako na sinabi niya sa akin na sinabi niya na, pero hindi detailed (I was just surprised when he told me he revealed it to the public, but it wasn't detailed)," Jennylyn is quoted as saying on PEP.ph. "Basta lumabas lang siya sa isang show, so parang napag-usapan na nga yung formality. So, iyon, nai-open lang niya sa akin. Hindi rin ako handa! (He just went on a show, and so they just got to talking about the formality of the relationship. So, that's it, he opened up about it to me. I wasn't prepared for it!)"

The actress added, laughing, that she was all right with what happened."Wala, e, nandiyan na 'yan, e, wala na naman akong, hindi na naman niya puwedeng bawiin iyon, di ba? (Well, it's already happened. It's not like he can take it back, right?)"

Jennylyn said she and Luis were happy with where things are. "Wala namang nagbago; ganun pa rin naman. Pero ang masasabi ko lang, parang mas nagiging masaya lang kasi mas marami kaming napag-uusapan. (Nothing changed; things remain the same. But all I can say is, we're happier because we can talk about a lot more things.)"

She also expressed her wish to keep as much of their relationship out of the public eye as she can. "Kasi gusto rin naman namin ng privacy kahit konti, iyon. Yun lang! Pero hindi naman namin ipinagdadamot. (We want privacy too, even if it's just a little. That's it! But we're not going to keep everything to ourselves either.)"
