Dingdong Dantes revealed he had no plans of entering politics in an interview with TV host Boy Abunda aired on December 14 on Bandila, ABS-CBNNews.com reports. The actor, who stars in upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival movie Segunda Mano with actress-TV host Kris Aquino, is the chairman of YesPinoy Foundation, an organization that provides scholarships for impoverished youth. He also regularly takes part in public service projects.

"Mas enjoy ko po maging aktor talaga," he explained. "And bilang isang aktor, nagagawa ko rin naman ‘tong mga bagay na ‘to, and I think I am already helping enough, or as much, so para sa akin that’s it. (I really enjoy being an actor more. And as an actor, I can still do projects like this, and I think I'm already helping enough, or as much [as I can], so for me, that's it.)"

Before turning into an actor, Dingdong was part of the dance group Abstract Dancers. "Never ko hong naisip [na sisikat ako] eh, kasi kahit nung nandoon ako, I was doing it more for fun. Hindi ko masyadong sineryoso, pero dumating na lang, parang ganon. (I never thought I'd get popular because even when I was with the group, I was doing it more for fun. I wasn't really taking it seriously, but then things just happened.)"

Dingdong said he owed his improvements as an actor to the people he's worked with. "Most of who I am right now, I owe to them kasi dahil sa mga naituro nila sa akin, naibahagi, lahat ng mga experiences na ‘yon, it made me who I am right now."
