Actor Dingdong Dantes, who turned 31 on August 2, said his girlfriend, actress Marian Rivera, planned his birthday celebration for him along with some of his cousins, PEP.ph reports. Instead of the usual party, they took him on a road trip on July 31. On his actual birthday, Marian cooked dishes Dingdong requested from her, including his new favorite putahe, kalderetang baka.What really touched Dingdong, though, were Marian's efforts to get him his birthday present: a watch he himself was raring to buy this August. "Kasi, sabi ng supplier ko, darating pa raw gitna ng August (My supplier said it was going to arrive mid-August)," he is quoted as saying, explaining his surprise when Marian presented him with the watch, which she'd gotten in advance from another supplier.
More than the gift, Dingdong added that it was really Marian's time that was the best present she'd given him. "Yung atensiyon at saka yung effort na ginugol niya para ibigay sa akin ang dishes na yun. (I saw this in the attention she gave me and all the efforts she put into making those dishes for me.)"
