The court has granted the Temporary Protection Order (TPO) that Claudine Barretto has filed against her husband, Raymart Santiago, on August 5.

PEP.ph reports that the TPO would prevent Raymart from coming within 300 meters of Claudine and their two children, Sabina and Santino, their residence, and their school; nor can he communicate with them and the members of their household. Raymart is also barred from “inflicting physical, psychological, and mental abuse to Claudine and the kids," and he cannot speak to the media about the case.

However, Claudine is now planning to elevate the TPO into a Permanent Protection Order (PPO) so she can protect herself and her children against Raymart.

In a separate article from PEP.ph, Raymart was reported to have filed for habeas corpus, which, according to family law, is invoked by a parent when he or she is stripped of custody of his or her children by a “trial court or ex parte hearing.”

Raymart’s brother, actor Randy Santiago, also says that the Santiago clan will continue to support Raymart.

“Nasasaktan kami. Kasi si Claudine, pamilya namin. Hindi naman kami arti-artista, e—pami-pamilya kami... Kung ayaw n’yo na talaga, e, di huwag na, di ba? Pero para magsiraan kayo, huwag naman (We’re also hurt. Claudine is already part of our family. We’re not just artists—we’re family... If they don’t want to be with each other anymore, then they should split, right? But they shouldn't say bad things about each other),” he was quoted as saying in another article on PEP.ph.
