On May 6, actress Saab Magalona Tweeted, “Thinking about a young actor who slapped my friend (his ex gf) makes me so angry. I hope his career goes nowhere!!" PEP.ph reports. This simple Tweet sparked a full-fledged controversy when a curious fan of Mara Clara actor Albie Casiño, who believed Saab's "friend" was Andi Eigenmann, his former girlfriend of two years, asked a certain “Albie” on social networking site Formspring if he was the young actor being referred to in the Tweet.“albie!!!!!!!! sinabe ni andi to all her friends na sinampal mo daw cya. sa twitter ni saab parang ikaw yung young actor. [nanampal] daw. kaw ba talaga yun? (Andi told all her friends that you hit her. On Saab's Twitter, it sounded like you were the young actor. She said you hit Andi. Was that really you?)" the fan asked. “Albie” replied, “So much bullshit. I never hit her. Maybe one of her many boys did. Andi’s a cheater kasi she has maybe 10 guys. Ao yeah nope not me."
An upset Andi posted the Formspring link on her Twitter account, followed by a series of Tweets about the issue. “Question is why he had to have the reason to answer that question. So maybe it was him. Why would my friend, someone who just cares go about and tweet something out of disappointment if it were a lie. The issue is not what he’s done but how he’s trying to ruin my life and let him be wo defending myself. All I ver did for 2yrs was sty by hm. Make sure he’s happy and he doesn’t get hurt. Cus I care. A lot. And why do I get this inn return? No one knows,” she Tweeted in succession, PEP.ph recounts.
In a separate Tweet, Andi confirmed that the Formspring account belonged to Albie. “He made that acct with me there,” she said.
Andi’s mother, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose, defended her daughter, saying she was breaking her silence because she hated seeing Andi in pain. “Andi is not a cheater. What Albie Casiño claims in his Formspring account is not true. As her mother, I know Andi best. She is a loving daughter, a professional actress, and a decent human being,” she is quoted as saying on PEP.ph.
As of press time, both Andi and Albie have not given press statements about the issue.
