lovi_poe_womens_health.jpgHumility and respect are two traits actress Lovi Poe has in spades. Combine these with her unique beauty and her dedication to her craft, and it's no wonder her showbiz career has been growing in leaps and bounds this year. She received good reviews for her portrayal of Serafina in the movie Temptation Island, and people are looking forward to watching how she tackles her role as a woman cheating on her man in the upcoming movie My Neighbor's Wife.

In the September 2011 issue of Women's Health Philippines, Lovi reveals her thoughts on topics like love, family, work, and fitness. Read on to find out what lessons she's picked up from the challenges she's faced in both her professional and personal lives.

1. BE FLEXIBLE.

Lovi isn't picky about choosing roles for her projects. "Kung ano ’yung offer sa akin, whether bagay sa akin or hindi, I’ll fit into it (Whether a role suits me or not, as long as it was offered to me, I'll fit into it)," she shares. This challenges her and also makes her adaptable to any situation. "My goal has always been to be taken seriously as an actress."

2. LEARN FROM THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU.

Lovi treats her co-stars as mentors and wishes to maximize her experiences by working with different people. "I get to learn sa bawat taong nakakatrabaho ko (I get to from every person I work with)," says Lovi, and she shares how this has helped her improve her acting skills. She learned to cry from Bianca King when she was 16, for example, and she values the lessons she picked up while working with actress Sunshine Dizon for the teleserye Bakekang a few years back.

3. RESPECT OTHERS.

Lovi showed decorum by keeping silent and not taking sides in the heat of the feud between her Temptation Island co-stars Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista in July. "They're really close to me. Not just from the movie but from before. I owe so much to them. I'd rather keep it that way."

4. KNOW YOUR PRIORITIES.

Lovi exerts her best efforts at work and celebrates having a busy schedule. "I enjoy being stressed at work. I'd rather work than go out at night and party. At least alam ko I'm tired for a good reason." She shares how she used to love going to parties, but now she's moved on. "At some point, mapapagod ka eh. (At some point, you'll get tired.) I'm there na."

5. LOVE YOURSELF.

While Lovi knows the importance of loving others, she doesn't forget to look after herself. "As much as you want to be selfless, you can't. I've been that way for such a long time, and it's not good. I'm always thinking of other people, and now I'm 22. Enjoy! I won't be 22 forever."
