Here in the Philippines, beaches and gardens are popular locations for a prenup shoot (after all, the country is home to thousands and thousands of islands!), but soon-to-weds Iza and Japz took the road less traveled and shot their engagement photos at a "mini desert" in Paoay, Ilocos Norte.
The parched paradise, which is located near the Suba beach, is a tourist hotspot up north, with many visiting the area for ATV rides and sandboarding.
"[When in Ilocos Norte], we always look forward to shooting our couples at the [Paoay] sand dunes because of its amazing sunset and spacious land where we can play around through a 4x4 jeep," Debris Tolentino-Palapus of Daydreamer Studios, the photographer behind the engagement shoot, tells Female Network.
According to Debris, the only challenge with the outdoor shoot was the weather. "It rained hard, and we were all soaking wet," recounts the photographer. Having a stylist (Geof Lagria) and a makeup artist (Ten Franco) "who made sure everything is still picture-perfect and unique," during the shoot was extremely helpful, shares Debris, advising couples who plan to do a destination shoot—especially themed ones—to do the same.
To get to the said location, the soon-to-weds traveled via land and rented two vans and one car for the entire team, but if you prefer the much faster route, there are always flights to Laoag City from Manila. Conveniently, the Laoag airport is only a couple of minutes away from the Paoay sand dunes!
