Med school classmates turned lovers Mishi and Filbert tied the knot with a warm and vibrant country orchard-themed wedding. Bright touches of tangerine orange and chartreuse green gave this rustic, laidback November wedding cheeriness and made it a refreshing affair worth remembering.

Love Story

Mishi and Filbert met as classmates in medical school. At that time, the two of them didn't see eye to eye right away. Mishi shares, "Several girls in my circle of friends were scrambling to get his attention, and I never cared or wondered [about him]. He was quiet and often too relaxed. He thought my personality was too strong for him, since I often led the class activities, and I was usually strict with details and deadlines. He feared me, and so he rarely approached me."

But when they were required to work together for a group project, the two got to know each other more. "We began seeing each other in an entirely different (and wonderful) way. We believe God has created that perfect time for us." After two months of courtship--complete with flowers, food, and constant visits--Mishi and Filbert became an official couple. Their shared interests--food, movies, music, crafts, travel, nature, and adventurous activities--and their commitment to each other's spiritual growth made them realize that they wanted to grow old together. "On our third anniversary, we gave each other letters expressing our love and gratefulness to each other; we read [the letters] in each other's presence. We both mentioned openly our desire to be with each other for the rest of our lives. He proposed and I said yes," shares Mishi. And finally on January of 2010, Filbert formally asked for Mishi's hand before their families.

Wedding Preparations

Mishi and Filbert's country orchard-themed wedding was marked with pops of bright tangerine orange and chartreuse green amidst shades of brown and antique gold. From the wedding attire to the Southern California-inspired blooms, woven accents, and fresh oranges used as decor, the wedding's earthy color palette yielded a warm and cheery ambiance. Mango Farm's chic, pastoral grounds also served as the perfect venue for the couple's uniquely themed wedding.

Wanting their wedding to be a "perfect medley of beauty, elegance, and exceptionality," Mishi and Filbert also busied themselves with a number of DIY projects. From making save-the-dates and programs to designing the dresses of the entourage, buying fabrics and sewing on embellishments, the couple poured all the time and effort they could give to make their wedding special and memorable.
