Lorely and Aron initially wanted a vintage-themed wedding, but they found that executing that concept required more than the budget they set. Instead, they opted for an affair with a peacock-inspired palette. In the end, they were still able to pull off a luxe celebration.

Love Story
Lorely and Aron met in June of 2006--it was Aron's first day of work in Accenture, where they were grouped together to report on a topic. The very next day, Lorely sat right next to Aron during the session, since he was the only one she knew there when she arrived. They soon became friends, and some occasional texts and e-mails after, in September 2006, the romance began.
The two got to know each other better when they went on a trip to Baguio. Eventually, Lorely and Aron officially became a couple, and four years into their relationship, on December 9, 2010, they tied the knot. "The rest has been a very happy journey to the wedding day," Lorely says.
Aron's proposal didn't involve the usual fanfare. Lorely and Aron had been living together since August 2008, and they have talked about marriage countless times before they finally booked a church. "Although, as a woman, I would love to be proposed to, so he did try!" Lorely says. Only a month before the wedding, Aron finally made a formal proposal by popping the question during a Starbucks date, his Ateneo grad ring in hand.

Wedding Preparations
For her hassle-free wedding day, Lorely credits her pool of wedding coordinators from Once a Bride Weddings, who did most of the preparations. "I was not stressed at all that day," she shares. By passing on major responsibilities to the team, she was able to relax on her wedding.
The couple's peacock-inspired theme was incorporated in most of their wedding details. At the ceremony venue, the aisle was lined with arrangements of roses and asthers, and each pot was jazzed up with peacock feathers. The reception venue, the Ramon Magsaysay Hall in Manila, also reflected the theme. Decorating the tables were peacock feathers and damask runners, and these channeled a luxurious look. The reception was intimate with the closest friends and family present, and even if there were no special performances in the program, the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
While the couple hired coordinators, Lorely and Aron were still very hands-on with most of the wedding details. Other than providing the materials for the reception decor, they also designed their own name cards, menu cards, place cards, napkin belts, table labels, and invitations.
Some details did not turn out as they had initially hoped--a vintage theme proved to be challenging to execute, so they settled for another theme. They also changed their videographer because the new one offered HD quality, plus they hired a new photographer, which, Lorely says, is "one of the best decisions we've ever made!" Changing their photo and video team did require them to shell out more money, but she believes that if anyone should splurge on one wedding detail, it should be on photos. "Not the gown (that you might not fit into anymore after decades), not the bridal car, but the most wonderful remembrance of your big day," she says.
