Jops and Cyrus, both dentists by profession, tied the knot at Sta. Maria Della Strada with a ceremony fit for modern Manileños. While the couple incorporated a lot of Pinoy references in their decor, the creative Filipino accents were not the only decorative elements in the wedding--the couple's love story also provided inspiration for the reception details.

LOVE STORY
Jops and Cyrus were both students taking dentistry in the same university. Their college was a small community of familiar faces, but despite being schoolmates for six years, Jops and Cyrus only became a couple just as graduation was nearing. Being in the same group of friends became the foundation for their relationship, as they were already very comfortable with each other.
On Jops' 25th birthday, Cyrus added another highlight to the special day by proposing. Jops said yes, with one request-that he let her fulfill her dream of having a non-traditional first dance. So the couple started their new life as man and wife by grooving to some hip-hop music.

WEDDING PREPARATIONS
Pinoy pop culture was the theme for the day's festivities, which created a warm atmosphere for Jops and Cyrus' grand affair. The bride and groom planned to make their big day as creative and meaningful as possible, and so certain wedding details paid homage to the locales and icons of Manila, where the couple's love story unfolded. Tables were named after significant locations in their relationship, such as Mendiola, in tribute to their school, where they first met. Wedding invites had a modern graphic print of a jeepney, and creatively wry reception rules were rendered in Filipino and posted at the reception venue. An appetizer buffet of Filipino cuisine was provided during cocktails. A sorbetes cart at the reception completed the Pinoy pop theme.
Preparations for the wedding did not always go as planned for the couple, with unexpected circumstances like illnesses in the family occurring (still, the bride's mother and the groom's father surprised their children with their presence; the supportive parents even gave speeches for their beloved children). The bride shares that faith was what made their wedding truly beautiful. She says, "[God] was the one who made everything seem perfect for our wedding day; and now we know that maybe all the trials we encountered during planning was His way of pruning us to become the couple ready to face Him."
