Like most couples, Elaine and Chicco wanted their wedding to reflect their personalities. Their love of adventure inspired them to have a destination wedding, and Davao proved to be the perfect place for their celebration. The picturesque sights, plus the good company as family and friends flew in, made their wedding truly beautiful.

Love Story

Elaine and Chicco were friends first before they decided to pursue a romantic relationship. They had met through work, and grew closer when they worked on the same projects together. They also had the same set of friends, with whom they shared meals and travels with.

When Elaine and Chicco became a couple years later, they bonded over going on out of town trips--and it was on one of those trips that Chicco decided to propose to Elaine. On their 21st monthsary, Chicco brought Elaine to Tagaytay Highlands, where he presented her with a scrapbook chronicling their relationship and the places they've been to together. The last few pages featured an account of their activities that day, plus a photo of a diamond ring. Chicco then popped the question as he knelt in front of Elaine--and Elaine agreed to marry him.

Wedding Preparation

Traveling played a huge role in Elaine and Chicco's relationship, and so they incorporated a tropical theme into their wedding celebration. The couple opted to have a destination wedding in Davao, where family and friends flew in to witness the two exchange vows. 

The couple wanted an outdoor reception, and pulling that off meant keeping abreast with the weather forecast. They hoped for the best that the sun would shine brightly on their big day, but they also prepared for the worst. "For outdoor weddings, it would be good to have a Plan B for the set-up. Check with your venue supplier if it's possible to set up tents as back-up," shares Elaine. It drizzled a little on the couple's wedding, but the couple was ready to move the party to the covered pavilion in case of rain.

Because the couple prepared to weather any storms on their wedding day, their celebration turned out to be a beautiful and memorable one.
