According to a new study featured on Elite Daily, you can increase your chances of achieving these goals if you plan them in days and not years.

When researchers asked 162 participants to gauge a deadline in terms of days instead of years, they seemed to think it was 29.7 days earlier than it really was. When a years-long goal was converted to months, they perceived the time they had to be 8.7 months shorter.

If you're serious about pursuing your goals, having a sense of urgency can spur you on and motivate you to work even harder for your goal. The key is "to cut the link between 'future you' and 'present you.'"
