Like many other businesses, Kim Rinolo's online ukay-ukay store has been affected by the pandemic.  

Since most of the pre-loved clothes she sells are formal and work-appropriate, "nawalan ako ng kita," she tells Summit Media. "‘Yung mga naging customer ko, nawalan ng trabaho that time."

While being cooped up at home, Kim found her passion for sewing—and this gave her an idea to deconstruct her thrifted pieces. "Pumasok talaga sa isip ko na i-refashion yung mga naiwang stocks na meron ako na 'di ko talaga nabenta."

Inspired by the “cute” and “unique” outfits she would see on K-dramas, Kim would add a dainty, trendy twist to her pre-loved items.

According to the online seller, her refashioned pieces go for as low as P150 and up to P700, depending on the style.
