Watching Gossip Girl for six years has been quite an education. Despite its often extreme situations—remember that scene where Blair and Serena got into a catfight right outside the house of the Yale University dean—the show has touched on more than a few real-life problems.

Amid the spectacular clothes and the crazy plotlines, there are several cautionary tales from the show. If you want to impress your boss, get chosen for your dream job, or at the very least, not get fired, here are five job lessons from Gossip Girl.
