The new year comes with a promise of a fresh start. That may mean a chance to mend broken relationships, revisit personal goals, and yes, even dive into new business opportunities. Because why not, right? If you're still on the fence about whether or not you should go for that business idea you've been quietly fantasizing about, let Neri Naig-Miranda's words motivate you to keep reaching for that dream.
In an Instagram post, Neri teased a possible new project and talks about what it's like for her when she gets kilig over an idea. She wrote, "Kapag may maisip akong business idea, yung kikiligin ako everytime na maiisip ko yung idea na 'yun, para sa akin, magandang sign 'yun na ituloy ko. At talagang ginagawa ko, 'di ako natatakot na subukan. Siyempre 'di ko iniisip na mag-fail ang idea ko, pero kung 'di man mag-work, at least alam ko na may lesson akong natutunan."
In case you didn't know, Neri has a roster of businesses; her real estate firm Team Wais Real Estate, Neri's Cafe, Neri's Cottage, Neri's Not-So-Secret Garden and Neri's Bakeshop are just some of her ventures. In November 2020, she launched her own clothing line called Very Neri. A few months prior, Neri announced that she will be taking an entrepreneurship course from Harvard Business School Online.
Neri explains that she isn't afraid to start a business. "Hindi ako takot. Nag-start ako sa walang-wala talaga. Kaya ano pa ba ang kakatakutan ko nung nagsisimula ako sa negosyo? Laki ako sa hirap, nangangarap ng malaki pero alam kong hindi imposibleng makamit."
She also encourages her followers not to let fear stand in their way: "Fear ang unang tatalo sa atin. Kapag walang execution, hanggang pangarap lang 'yan. Sayang naman kung 'di mo susubukan. Magtiwala ka sa sarili mo na kaya mo. Importante 'yan. Kahit ano pa ang sabihin ng iba na 'di ka magiging successful, na babagsak ka lang, push yourself more. Patunayan mo sa sarili mo na kaya mo. Wala kang kailangang patunayan sa kanila. Sa sarili mo lang."
