People who say that nice girls don't have what it takes to climb up the career ladder clearly don't have the fortune of meeting a lot of nice and successful women. In the phenomenal book The Power of Nice, Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval (both very nice and very successful women) also agree that nice is not exactly what people are aspiring for these days.
“To be labelled ‘nice’ usually means the other person has little else positive to say about you. To be nice is to be considered Pollyanna, and passive, wimpy, and Milquetoast,” the authors share. However, the two are quick to dissuade readers of that notion. If you take a look at the stats below, you might be surprised at how being nice is actually kind of kick-ass.
