Looking for greener pastures outside the country? Then you're in luck, as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced on September 8 that there are about 2,000 job opportunities waiting for skilled Filipinos in Yukon, the westernmost territory of Canada. Moreover, Canada also offers accepted workers the chance to bring their families into the country.

Openings are available for Filipino call center agents, caregivers, chefs, cooks, engineers, nurses, and heavy equipment operators, among others. Salaries go from P80,000 to P300,000. English proficiency and a degree related to the job are a must.

In a release on DOLE's official website, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III noted that he has already "directed Administrator Bernard Olalia of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to fast-track the deployment of workers to Yukon, as well as the processing of Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) of those who will be working in Vancouver and Toronto."
