If you were to list down five of your most dreaded job interview questions, we’re sure that being asked where you would go shopping on a Saturday morning, or how many barbers live in a certain location wouldn’t be on the top of your list. Not because they wouldn’t be asked (FYI: Nike and Google did ask these questions to their interns, according to Forbes.com), but because you have no idea that your prospective employer would even hurl something like them at you. Then again, they are exactly what you dread during an interview—questions you don’t expect to be asked.

The best way to deal with this dilemma depends on the kind of company you’re applying at. You can try being confident, honest, or humorous. After all, just as you don’t expect to be asked such questions, so they don’t expect you to give an accurate answer. What your interview is looking for is how you handle the situation.
