When it comes to investments, some celebrities diversify their portfolio and look for opportunities overseas. Here are local celebrities who found investments in the U.S.
Sharon Cuneta
Before putting her house up on sale, the Megastar called her "mega mansion" her "happy place."
The property is located in Calabasas, Los Angeles County, California.
According to Realtor.com, a real estate property search site, the 18-year-old mansion has six bathrooms, six full baths, and one half bath.
It boasted of an expansive lawn with a covered patio, a barbecue area, a playground, and a pool area.
The property was sold for P2.2 million. (Reportedly, its current owner is a friend of Adam Sandler! How cool.)
Manny Pacquiao
The boxing champion used to have two mansions in Los Angeles, California.
The first mansion was a five-bedroom estate in Hancock Park.
It was even featured in MTV Cribs, where Manny himself gave a tour of his Mediterranean-style villa.
This mansion was put up for sale in 2013 for $2.17M or roughly P115.9M.
According to a 2013 report by Realtor.com, Manny bought the “nearly 4,275 square feet” property in 2009.
The house had five bedrooms, six baths, a gourmet kitchen with built-in coffee bar, and a master suite with a glass shower and bathtub.
After listing his Hancock Park property, Manny bought a $12.5M or P665M estate in Beverly Hills, home to many of Hollywood’s A-list stars.
In fact, the former owner of Manny’s Beverly Hills mansion was rapper-producer Sean Combs aka P. Diddy.
According the L.A. Times, the “10,000 square feet of living space [has] a chef’s kitchen with long center island, a home theater with a refreshment bar, and a family room with an adjoining wet bar.”
The properly also includes “a master suite with his and hers bathrooms and custom walk-in closets.”
Piolo Pascual
Piolo is said to have numerous properties in the U.S., two of which include his family homes in Las Vegas, Nevada and Los Angeles, California.
He and his sister Patricia—who actually resides in the house—purchased this 10,500 square-foot property in 2006.
The two-story, four-bedroom house is located in a quiet executive village in the county, and whenever Piolo is in the U.S., he prefers to stay over here. (Click here for a tour!)
“It’s very comfortable here,” the Kapamilya actor said in his interview with YES! Magazine for its September 2012 issue.
He explained, “Secluded 'yong area and tahimik.
“Ako, one of the reasons why I always go to Vegas instead of L.A., sobrang tahimik dito.”
But Piolo also drops by his Los Angeles home, especially back then when his son Iñigo was still based there.
Their L.A. home was actually Piolo’s surprise gift to his mom Amy.
The actor bought the property to give his mom a much more spacious place to live in and relax.
At first, Mommy Amy was hesitant to let go of her first home in the bustling streets of Montery Park, California.
But her kids didn’t have a particularly hard time convincing her to move to a much quieter neighborhood.
Ryan Agoncillio and Judy Ann Santos
The couple bought their Las Vegas property in 2015 as a potential investment opportunity.
But when Ryan and Judy Ann saw the refurbished home in 2016, Judy Ann fell in love with the spot.
Ryan told PEP.ph back then, “We’ll see what the future holds for us [there in the U.S.].
“It’s a humble home that’s just enough for us. Hindi naman siya magarbo, e.”
Kris Bernal
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph, the Kapuso actress revealed that she and her family bought a house in West Covina, California months ago.
The property is a modern-minimalist home with a lot size of 3,750 square feet and a floor area of 2,022 square feet.
It has five bedrooms and a loft.
The California home was a dream come true for Kris’s mom, who convinced her to make the investment.
Kris told PEP.ph, “Sabi niya, mas mataas pa [kung] tumaas iyong value ng house sa U.S. than putting my money in the bank. I adhered to her advice.
"So last year, I asked my sister to look for a house, and after more than eight months of house-hunting, we all finally agreed to buy that house in West Covina.
"We bought it in April 2018. We thank God for this wonderful blessing. It was a good buy kasi ngayon, medyo tumaas na iyong value nong house."
