Okay, we're not going to pretend that we love Mondays. Just like you, we're usually tired and cranky and perhaps even prone to a little procrastination during the first day of the week. But, it doesn't always have to be this way. Here, six ways to get yourself revved up for work!

1. Strike out one item on your to-do list.

A lot of people will tell you to do the hardest task first, just so you don't have to think about it for the rest of the day, but there are times that call for just the opposite. On days when you feel particularly demotivated, find the easiest thing on your list, say, RSVP-ing to important invites or filing folders, and just do it. They may be small victories, but getting a headstart on what seems to be another busy week can put you in the right mind-set.

2. Purge your inbox.

Check your emails and delete span and unwanted messages. You’ll be surprised at how better you’ll feel after.

3. Read one motivational quote.

Open your favorite book and read a passage that has always inspired you. Don’t have the time? Go to Pinterest and check out quotable quotes online! Give yourself a few minutes to internalize your chosen words of wisdom and let them be your guide for the rest of the day.

4. Say something nice about your co-workers.

True, you’d rather not see them for at least another day, but since you really can’t do anything much to change your work schedule, you’ll have to play nice. The day always goes by a lot smoother when you’re on good terms with your co-workers.

5. Open the blinds.

Welcome another day by basking in the sun’s safe rays. Get some vitamin D going.

6. Clean your desk.

Organized chaos doesn’t work for everyone. Clean up your desk before you start the day (or better yet, before you go home on a Friday), and you’ll find that you get so much more done in a shorter amount of time.
