If most of your guests are constantly online, sending out digital invitations also allows you to inform them faster, no matter where they are. (A tip: You might want to combine digital invites with traditional ones. Some elder guests would still appreciate printed invitations because they might not be as tech-savvy as the younger guests.)

With the wide array of blog sites, it wouldn't be that hard to find one that suits your techie abilities (or lack thereof). Such sites are free, and allow you to feature everything about your wedding. Putting up a wedding website will save you time, energy, and money in sending out invites. Moreover, it may also make it easier for your guests to confirm attendance, and for you to keep track of the attendees. With a wedding website (or wedsite), you can update at the details at your leisure. You may even style the website according to your wedding theme.
Facebook Events
If you're not up for publishing a completely new website for your wedding, then using Facebook might just do the trick. Simply use the Create Event function under Events, invite people in your network, and you're all set to post updates and other wedding-related details. Guests can also RSVP via the Events page, making it easier for you to keep track of the headcount. Remember to keep the settings private to keep unwanted guests from inviting themselves.
E-vite
If you're a sucker for letter-writing but have a soft heart for trees, then e-vites might be the answer to your prayers. Lots of websites offer free templates for e-vites, which you can tweak according to your palette or theme. Some e-vites can even feature fun animations when they're sent to guests. If you want digital invites that look like your printed ones, you can email the digital version to your guests--doing so can save on additional printing and postage costs for your invites.
Flash Drive or CD
Still want to give your guests personal copies of your wedding invites, but with a modern twist? Try using CD or flash drive invites. These storage devices can house all sorts of files: a wedding video, a PowerPoint presentation, your wedding playlist, or a digital copy of the wedding invitation. The great thing with flash drives is that your guests can still use them even after your wedding, so they can also be your wedding giveaways. Be wary about the files you include in the drives though--the last thing you want is to send a file virus to your guests.
