A recent study lent credibility to what women have known all along: brooding boys are sexy. The study, which was published in the American Psychological Association Journal, said that when women were shown photos of men, the ones that they found to be the most attractive were those who weren’t smiling. According to Jessica Tracy, a professor at the University of British Columbia and also the director of the study, “Men who smile were considered fairly unattractive by women.”

This may explain our attraction to bad boys and the guys who would rather pout than flash their pearly whites.
