There's a new body trend that's taking the internet by storm, and for once, it isn't about us–well, at least, not directly. In her now-viral essay for her college website, Clemson University student Mackenzie Pearson talks about why women are going gaga for the dad bod, also known as the perfect balance between working out and beer gut. Think Leonardo DiCaprio, Jon Hamm, and Chris Pratt pre-Guardians of the Galaxy. These guys don't carry six-packs with them, but hey, they're not exactly unhealthy either.

"While we all love a sculpted guy, there is just something about the dad bod that makes boys seem more human, natural, and attractive," Pearson writes.
For guys who have been body-shamed because of their dad bods, this wave could just be what they've been waiting for. In a Buzzfeed article, Pearson said that her dad's friend told him, "'your daughter made me feel proud of my body for the first time in years.'"
