We’ve seen how Korean guys are on our favorite K-dramas–they’re sweet, slightly possessive, and give killer smiles. The question is, are they really like that in real life? Here our GIRLTalkers give us the real deal on what it’s like to have a Korean boyfriend.

Actually most Korean guys are on both extreme sides: Either masyadong vain or madumi, either workaholic or happy go lucky, either seryoso or funny. For a while I thought I would marry my first Korean boyfriend. He reminds of a typical character in a koreanovela na sweet na makulit. We got along so well, until his family came into the picture. He finally informed his mother about our relationship and his mom and his sister were strongly against it, most especially when they found out that I'm of mixed race –from GT mademoiselle

I had two Korean boyfriends last year. Yung first okay naman siya, sweet and super gwapo. He was aggressive yet galante, kaya lang napaka babaero. Lagi kami magkasama and ang daming nagtetext sa kanya. I can’t take it, kaya ayun nakipag-break ako, but up to now we still communicate at pag nag-uusap kami parang kami parin.

My second boyfriend naman kabaliktaran nung first. Hindi siya sweet. Sa seven months na pagsasama namin siguro bilang na bilang lang sa daliri ko kung ilang beses lang siya nag "I love you" sa akin. –from GT lesters_gal

I used to have a Korean text mate. He's not really that expressive when it comes to his feelings. When I first met him, he was so shy pero I was impressed because he could pick up right away what we were telling him. He spoke good English, too. Anyway, our friendship really didn't last long since he went back to Korea. –from GT duh_shin

Medyo violent nga sila pag galit, siguro sanay kasi sila sa Korean women na submissive sa kanila kahit na career women pa sila. They have strong personalities, pero pag dating sa asawa nila, they always give way muna hanggang kumalma yung mga mister nila. –from GT ash17

Funny thing is, my Korean boyfriend is the opposite of lahat ng negative traits here. He's super sweet, nakakaumay nga eh. PDA to the highest level, ako na nahihiya pagkasama ko friends ko or mga officemates. And then sa Facebook, nagkakalat din siya ng mga mushy wall posts kahit mali-mali na grammar niya. Also, he’s super bango! I love smelling his neck, signature perfume niya CK Summer kahit matutulog na after shower nagpapabango pa para daw lagi ako nakadikit sa kanya. –from GT dizzygurrl
