Many people will tell you that sleeping with a guy on the first date is a huge dating no-no. They’ll tell you that it’ll ruin your chances of a second date, set a precedent for all your other dates, and put you at risk for all sorts of sexually transmitted diseases. But while your safety and security should always be your primary concern, there’s no shame in doing the deed so soon in the game. According to Psychology Today, “whatever your reasons for having had sex on the first date were because you were feeling good, open, passionate, and alive.”

And if you’re worried about what your date might think about you putting out too soon, Adam of 30everafter.com sets the record straight. “It really doesn’t matter when you sleep with us,” he writes. “Of course, being guys the sooner would be better but if you sleep with us on the first date, we won’t think you’re slutty (contrary to what other girl magazines tell you).”

The point is: If he likes you, he’ll continue to see you. “Girls just use the ‘Oh it didn’t work out because I slept with him too soon’ as an excuse when really, there are so many reasons it didn’t work out.”

It’s as simple as that.
