A Youtube video of fraternal twin baby boys seemingly having an intense conversation in their kitchen has garnered over 4 million views, just a few days after ABC picked it up on March 29. Their parents first uploaded it on February 14, 2011, and it has been steadily gaining views over the past two months. In the video, the twins look like they’re having a coherent conversation only the two of them understand with laughter, hand gestures, and facial expressions peppering their question-and-answer-like babble:
“We've had a fascinating time seeing language blooming around here,” the twins’ mom (a twin herself) is quoted as saying in an AFP report.
"These kids are right on the cusp of language," Stephen Camarata, professor of Hearing and Speech sciences at Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, tells ABC. "They're using the intonation patterns of sentences--imitating sentences in a crude way."
