Do you believe that love works in mysterious ways? Come to think of it, in a world full of strangers, you can meet someone and fall in love with that person. You become crazy about each other, get married one day, have a family, and grow old together. Isn’t it amazing?
And sometimes, you meet that person online. You two start chatting, realize that you have a lot of things in common, and just magically click. Meeting someone online and falling in love with that person isn’t that surprising anymore, and it’s not new to our system. It’s just like any other relationship, except that you are thousands of miles away from the one you love.
Thankfully, there’s Skype, Kik, WhatsApp, Viber, Line to allow you to be connected 24/7. A long distance relationship is, indeed, hard, complicated, and intricate. We all have our definition and adjectives for it. However, when you are with someone who is willing to fight just to make the relationship work, all seems to be as easy as A, B, C or counting 1, 2, and 3. Sure, there will be people who will try to break you for they are insecure or a few who are afraid that you might just get hurt in the end but remember to never give up when things get rough or when trials rain.
Determination, trust, respect, understanding, communication and genuine love are but a few things you will both need to make it work. You are stronger than you think you are; you can do more and you can give more.
To all those who are in a long distance relationship, if you think what you are having is worth it, fight for it. What you have is yours, you need to protect it, you need to defend it against invaders and you need to work hard for it. Remember, nothing comes easy and free; everything comes with a price. Be determined and stay motivated.
To my special someone who is thousands of miles away from me, I love you and hope to see you soon.
