If you’ve ever needed proof that love is timeless, this letter is it. When Bill Moore of Aurora Colorado was 20 years old and a soldier fighting in World War II in Patton’s Third Army, he wrote a love letter to his girl Bernadean whom he later married. It read: “You are so lovely, darling, that I often wonder how it is possible that you are mine. I'm really the luckiest guy in the world, you know. And you are the reason.”

This was 70 years ago. By some sort of serendipitous magic, a stranger found the note in a vinyl record that she’d bought at a local thrift shop. With the help of a local news channel, the beautiful letter found its way back to its writer. Moore is now 90 years old. His wife died in 2010, but this video of him reading his letter shows that his love for Bernadean is still alive today.

“I loved her, and she loved me,” Moore told KMGH. “That's all I can tell you. It’s a heartache not being with her all the time.”
