Everyone loves a good love story, and the simplicity of Patrick Hughes's short, Signs, makes it all the more poignant. Here's how it starts: Jason is a corporate drone who's unhappy with his life and is terribly lonely, until he spies Stacey in the office building across his. By writing on sheets of paper (terribly unenvironmental, but then again, instant messaging or email wouldn't have been as artsy), they manage to converse and get to know and like each other.

Want to know how their story unfolds? Watch this short film, which was featured in the Coca-Cola Company's Schweppes Short Film Festival and won in the Cyber Lions category of the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. The short's 12 minutes and 13 seconds may well end with you teary eyed and with a renewed sense of romance--even if you, like Jason, are stuck in a quagmire of corporate drudgery.
