For actress-singer Sheryl Cruz, being a single mom has its ups and downs. In an exclusive interview with Good Housekeeping, she says that raising daughter Ashley on her own is “difficult but it does have its rewards in the sense na alam kong hindi matigas ang ulo ng anak ko (my child is not stubborn) and she understands [the demands of my work].”
At 12 years old, Ashley seems to have a good head on her shoulders. “Whenever I get to bond with Ashley, we sing karaoke or I play the piano while she sings. We cook together. She also makes me cosmetics, like lipsticks, from scratch,” says Sheryl. “Like my mom, I’d like her to become a very happy person especially growing up.”
