Here in the Philippines, women are used to receiving chocolates and flowers from men. It has become a social norm of sorts, and a man who fails to make his lady love feel special on this day is typically, well, given the silent treatment.

In other countries such as Japan, however, it’s the women who present their men with gifts. While we’re not telling you to refuse your man’s offerings (especially if they’re chocolate truffles or long-stemmed roses), why don’t you consider giving your boyfriend or husband something in return?
